Extraordinary Effort In These Extraordinary Times

In the midst of this pandemic, our property manager, Maloney Partners, has continued to be on the front lines

  • Providing support for our tenants
  • Implementing new procedures to ensure safety at our communities
  • Adapting lease up and move in activities at Columbus Commons in New Britain, CT

We reached out to Mark Kelly, Vice President and Regional Manager at Maloney to learn more about this “new normal.”

“It’s been very challenging as we’ve had to do everything from continuing to interview and process applicants 100% remotely using tools such as telephone, Zoom, DocuSign etc., and we’ve had to develop a contactless method of delivering keys and allowing move-ins. We’ve also had to develop and implement an extreme routine of sanitizing due to the continuing move-in activity. It has greatly affected the rent-up operation, and yet we are still meeting the targets due to the perseverance of all staff both behind the scenes and on the very different looking front line.”

First tenants moving into Columbus Commons in March before lock down began.

Despite this “new normal,” the Dakota Asset Management Team, in concert with Maloney’s team, has pressed forward with the lease up of Columbus Commons and expects to have the building fully leased by the end of June. We want to thank everyone who has been working behind the scenes and on the front lines, not only at Columbus Commons, but all of Dakota’s communities to ensure the safety of tenants and staff during these unprecedented times!
